Long lost friends……

Dave’s not super great at keeping in contact with his mates.  I, on the other hand, am brilliant at it.  Maybe I have too much time on my hands, but I can punch out a dozen postcards a week to various people just to let them know I’m thinking of them (please don’t feel like you’re not special if you’re one of the dozens of recipients 😉

Tonight, we were discussing a program we had been invited to watch, called Cowspiracy.  We all have our own views and experiences on this and I’m not prepared to get into it over the internet (in fact, I’m not prepared to get into it outside my own home) but it got us thinking about an old mate of Dave’s who owns a farm focused on ethical and environmentally low impact farming.  The fellow is an actual real live Rocket Scientist and Dave’s friend is a genius in something I don’t understand (I think it’s environmental science) and I don’t mean to imply that I understand Rocket Science!

They are always fun to talk to, even though I only understand every second sentence, but I always leave the conversation with much to think about.

We adore this couple, have been to visit them a few times, but as they live pretty much ‘off the grid’, they don’t have Facebook, or a mobile (that we know of) and of course Dave lost their address – which was pretty much “The massive property at the top of the hill in between, Capertee, Mudgee and Wollemi, with the rusty gate”.

Anyway, our discussion led me to google their business and I filled in the ‘contact us’ form and 15 minutes later, we were in touch.  They didn’t even know we’d moved to Holland, poor chick thought Dave was ignoring her calls 😉

What a super way to finish the night.

Anyway, all you Sydney siders – here’s the webpage just in case you’re interested.
