Anneke @ Preschool

Anneke started ‘peuterspeelzaal’ today.  It’s the equivalent of pre-school, however it runs from 830-1130/1200.  Children can attend from the age of 2 and are advised to go at least 2 mornings a week and recommend 3 mornings.

I looked at daycare, but I found that it wasn’t the same as at home – it’s truely babysitting.  There didn’t seem to be a program.  The centres were all well run, and clean (you know how I like clean) but we felt that they might not challenge Anneke enough.

I have found a peuterspeelzaal that runs from 830-1500, so Anneke will attend Tuesdays and Thursdays.  It’s a sweet little place, it shares the grounds of a school, so Anneke will have plenty to do at break time.

We have a sitter that will collect Anneke every Tuesday and take her home and stay until 8pm or so. This enables Dave and I to have a night to ourselves.  For the next 10 weeks, that night will be spent at Dutch Class!

I’m off to go shopping, get a massage, clean the house, do the washing, have a sleep…
